OVERVIEW
The village of Akkiredigudem is found within the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. Here the regional language is Telugu. In October 2019, I flew into the nearest airport in Vijayawada where Joanna’s husband, Sunder picked me up. From there, we began our 2 hour ride to Akkireddigudem. The next largest city on our route was Nuzvid, where food, household items, and other goods can be purchased. The village itself consists of roughly 3000 people. Most of these individuals make their living working in the agriculture industry and tend to the surrounding fields that are prosperous due to its fertile lands.
During my visit, there were noticeable spaces that impacted the local people’s daily activities.
